Tomorrow I am 20 weeks... is that even possible that I am already at the halfway mark? I am already halfway to the point where I will have the baby... or probably more than halfway if baby comes early! I find out what baby K is THIS WEEK!!! We also have our gender party next weekend! I'm really excited. DH and I went and started registering for stuff over the weekend too. We registered at Target & Babies R Us! We still have to put all the gender specific stuff on there once we know what baby K is! We are soo excited. Here is the newest email I have on baby K's progress:
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

19 weeks
Tomorrow I will be 19 weeks! We got a lot done this weekend including buying some stuff for our gender party and planting our garden (woohoo!!) So far we have zucchini, squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, jalepeno peppers, yellow bell peppers, cantaloupe, watermelon, and basil planted. We have a little more room and are thinking about adding some more. Here are some pictures of our garden… it is a work in progress!!!
Me planting:
Our garden:
So as I said I am 19 weeks tomorrow. I am also going to get to find out baby’s gender in 10 days!!! WOOHOO!!! The baby is now the size of a mango! Here is the email I go this week about baby’s progress:
Your baby’s sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don’t be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
Here is an updated pic:
One more for the heck of it...

18 weeks
Well tomorrow I go back to work after a wonderful spring break! It was so nice having some time off from work and getting to get some things done that I have been wanting/ needing to do. DH also took Thursday and Friday off to be with me so that was really nice. Yesterday was the first time I’ve felt baby actually kick. I have felt little flutters and small movements but no actual big kicks. Well yesterday my dog was laying in my lap on the windowseat and he laid his head on my belly and the baby started KICKING right where my dog's head was. The baby continued kicking for a good 10 minutes. It was so cool. I could feel it from the outside but dh couldn’t. I guess it was easier for me to feel since I knew what I was trying to feel and when it was happening. I don’t think it will be much longer before dh gets to feel him/her though.
Tomorrow I will be 18 weeks. The baby will be the size of a sweet potato! I get an email each week and here is the 18 week email letting me know what is going on (I know it is saying “he”… it alternates each week from he to she)…
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He’s busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you’ll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they’re still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he’s born. If you’re having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you’re having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
Ok here is an updated picture…4 weeks & 18 weeks… HAHA!

Doctor's appointment
I went to the doctor today. It was a good appointment. I saw a different doctor and I really liked her. I asked her if she thought there was a possibility of twins since the last dr mentioned it and she laughed and said "Was that Dr. Jones?" She then said "She was probably joking... she has a dry sense of humor." Hmm.... not too funny! She said she didn't have any reason to believe that there was more than one. The baby's heartbeat was 149. I was planning on asking if I could come back in 3 weeks instead of the regular 4 since I will be 20 weeks (the week I can FINALLY get my gender ultrasound) but before I even asked she said that she wanted me to come back in 3 weeks for an appointment and an ultrasound. I go back May 11th!!! Oh, and the worrying about my weight.... apparently my Wii Fit is not very accurate. I had gained 3 lbs since my last appointment... last month! She said that was ok because I hadn't gained much before that being so sick.

16 weeks
I am 16 weeks today! FOUR MONTHS!!!! And guess who threw up this morning!?! Yep, morning sickness at 4 months pregnant!! UGH! The baby is now the size of an avocado!!! Today mom, stepdad, dh, and I went shopping for nursery furniture. We ordered it! It is gorgeous!!! I can’t find a pic of the right color but we picked a caramel color which is a light brown. So this isn’t the right color but here is the crib:
The 3 drawer chest/changing table (no hutch on top):
and 5 drawer dresser:
I can’t wait until it comes in so we can put it all in the nursery!!!
Here is an updated pic of my belly. I decided to do a collage doing one every 4 weeks:

new ride & belly button!
MIL said she would buy us our travel system and it came in this week!!! I wanted to post a pic of it all put together. It is so cute!!! I love the color even more in person than I did on the website! Here is a pic of it:
I also have been noticing how much my belly button is changing already. I have always had a BIG TIME innie and it has been getting wider and flatter. Night before last I noticed that there is now a tiny bit of a bulge to it right in the middle. That seems crazy to me for being this early!! Yesterday I was very annoyed by a comment a coworker made about me. She told someone else and then ME that she thinks I walk around just sticking my belly out because there is no way I can be this big so early with how little I am. I was like I CAN’T even stick my belly out if I wanted to. I can’t do much with my belly… it is what it is! Some people are so crazy!!!

I am 15 weeks today!! That seems so crazy to me! So close to being 4 months! I didn’t post yesterday like I normally do because my sinuses have been acting up so bad that I just didn’t feel like it yesterday. I absolutely had no interest in taking a picture or taking the time of uploading the pic. Today, I am feeling a lot better. Still don’t feel great but I do feel better. Today I was wearing a dress and I had LOTS of comments on my belly…. funny thing is I didn’t really think I looked all that big this morning. Here is me today in my dress (yes that is the shower behind me… that mirror is the best mirror for taking my pics since it is my only full size mirror and no… I didn’t walk around holding my belly all day but I thought it showed up better in the pic that way… haha!):
Here is my normal belly pics for last week (14) and this week (15 weeks):
Have a great week! :)

14 weeks!
Tomorrow I will be 14 weeks! I don't really have much to update since my last post other than saying that we did feel the "lump" yesterday morning. DH could feel it too! It was very cool! We couldn't actually see it but we could feel it. Anyway here are some new 14 week pics:

sciatica, pt, and twins
Well my back hasn't been as bad this week but it started bothering me again yesterday so I went ahead and got my appointment scheduled for PT. For whatever reason my insurance won't authorize me to begin PT until April 1st so my first appointment will be next Friday. It is at 11:15 which is a really awkward time for me as far as work but I wanted to accept whatever they had so I could go ahead and get this started. I am seriously thinking about taking the whole day off. The lady said I might have to come back the following week too depending on what they did on Friday.... guess we will see. I hope they are able to do something for my back. It makes me somewhat nervous since when I asked if they did anything for sciatica during pregnancy they said that "they had" like it wasn't a real common thing.
Today I brought up the comment that the dr said on Monday about the possibility of twins and one of my coworkers was so excited. She kept saying "Well you know your belly has gotten big quick, you are hungry all the time, and you had all that sickness!" I still can't get over the dr's "Are you sure you aren't having twins?" comment. Umm YOU are the doctor... I am not! Are YOU sure I'm not having twins? I think her sole reason for asking is due to me taking clomid but it still makes me nervous. When I told her that only one baby was seen at 6 wks she said well sometimes they can miss a baby that early. I swear if I find out there are two when I have my 20 week ultrasound I will freak!! haha! I wouldn't mind having twins but I would have liked to have known already so I could have been preparing!!

Doctor's appointment...
Well I went back to the doctor and I will start with the positive. The doctor was able to find the heartbeat right away... she said she saw a "lump" and asked if I had noticed that at all. I haven't and am still not sure what she meant... apparently she could see the baby from the outside. We have got to do some more watching my belly apparently!! Didn't know it was possible to see so soon. She went to where she saw the lump and sure enough baby was there. The heartbeat was much less this time. It was 156... last time it was 172. She said that was normal for this point in the pregnancy. She also asked if I was sure I wasn't having twins and I asked why and she said with taking the clomid she just wondered.
That being said... I did NOT like the doctor. She was very unhelpful and seemed to mock every question I asked. She had one of those grins that looked like she was calling me dumb! I had a lot of questions I wanted to ask her and she didn't once ask me if I had anything to ask. She really wanted to do the doppler and leave. But I started spitting out my questions and I had to be quick because she looked like she was about to walk out! I asked her about my back pain and she said that it was sciatica and that if it got bad I could be referred to a physical therapist. I told her it was already really bad so she agreed I could start going to a physical therapist. I asked her about the bleeding and she said that she had read that in my chart and that was not an issue since it was brown blood and left it at that. I asked her about the swelling I have had in my hands and she asked if I had eaten a lot of salt... REALLY? Duhhh I know eating a lot of salt can make you swell. She then said that it wasn't an issue in early pregnancy. She said that I could get the down syndrome test the next time I go so I needed to do research on that to decide if I wanted to do it (helloooo information... explain please!!) and that my ultrasound would be at 20 weeks and walked out. She MIGHT have stayed in there 5 minutes. It was soooo dissapointing! Then I went to make my next appointment and they asked if I cared who and I said no. Then they offered her and I said ugh... so they changed it to someone else. The lady laughed and said I can give you someone else just let me know. So I told her anyone but her. I was very dissapointed with my appointment but at least I know baby is still doing fine! :)

13 weeks & peaches!
I'm 13 weeks tomorrow (and going to the doctor!) and the baby is supposed to be the size of a peach! It also has fingerprints at 13 weeks!! This week or next week (depending on what you look at) will be the beginning of my second trimester. I'm going with this week because if you divide 40 weeks by 3 you get 13 weeks 3 days so I'm guessing that is why some say 13 and others say 14. I haven't had ANY throwing up since the 11th!!! Maybe the morning sickness is going away! My main issue has been my back... possibly my sciatic nerve. It is my lower back on my right side and I have shooting pains that go through my back, down my hip, and into my leg. It is the worst in the mornings and at night. Friday night was AWFUL! I literally couldn't get up off the couch to go to bed because it hurt so bad!! I am definitely going to talk to my dr about it tomorrow when I go! Oh and my newest thing that dh thinks is sooo funny is I need to pee EVERY time I laugh! It doesn't matter if I just went when I laugh I feel like I've got to go!!! I am excited to be going to the dr tomorrow although I'm not so sure how nice this particular one is. Oh well! I'm hoping to go ahead and get my gender ultrasound scheduled because I really want to plan a gender party. I thought it would be fun plus I won't have to worry about telling someone before someone else. What I would like to do is have the dr seal the gender in an envelope (we won't even find out) and invite all my CLOSE family and friends over after my ultrasound. I'll let everyone make a guess and they can buy tickets to reveal the gender... the money will go to baby's future and the lucky winner will get to open the envelope and reveal the baby's gender to everyone including me & dh!! I think it would be a lot of fun! I'm hoping that I can get my ultrasound scheduled for a Friday so we can do the party that night and we won't have to wait long before finding out! We will see!! Well here is a collage of my belly pics from week 4 until week 13. I will post again tomorrow to let you know how my dr's appointment goes! :)

12 weeks!
Tomorrow I will be 12 weeks! I haven't updated since last week but a lot has happened. This past week was pretty stressful at work. I also had a scare with some brown bleeding starting Tuesday night. It wasn't much and had stopped by the time I could get the dr on Wednesday. They said that there were lots of reasons that could cause brown bleeding but brown means old blood and if I wasn't having any cramps and since it had stopped there was nothing to worry about. They said that if it happened again that they would get me to come in so they could take a look to reassure me. I also have been having MAJOR morning sickness. It seems like it was worse this week than it has been throughout the entire pregnancy so far. Maybe it has to get worse before it can get better? I told dh maybe that is baby's way of telling me "I'm ok mommy... the bleeding didn't hurt me!" I also tried on the maternity pants that were given to me and only one pair fit.... they fit in the waist & length but they are way too long at the crotch.... very strange! That was a huge let down because I was counting on her clothes fitting me so I wouldn't have to buy so much maternity clothes myself. Between the stress of work, having trouble finding clothes to wear, the bleeding, and the morning sickness- I had a major breakdown Wednesday at work. I went in another teacher's room and just burst into tears... talk about hormones!!
Things have gotten better. I haven't gotten sick any this weekend and yesterday my mom and I went and got pedicures! We also were able to find me a shirt, pair of capris, and a little cotton dress. I also went shopping with dh and was able to find 2 nice dresses (I need one for an upcomming wedding), 2 pairs of dress pants, one pair of dressy black capris, and a nice shirt. I'm excited about the weather getting warmer because I feel like I have more I can wear for warm weather.... plus warm weather makes me feel better!
This weekend I have had major thirst and ALL I want is water with lemon in it. Today that is all I have drank... plain water or water with lemon. Nothing else! I can't get enough of it!!! It is hard to believe that I am actually 12 weeks now! The baby is now the size of a plum and vocal chords have formed and it MAY be possible to tell the gender!
Here is a picture of me last week and this week.... think I look a little bigger!

11 weeks!
I will be 11 weeks tomorrow! There are some big changes in the baby this week... the baby is supposed to be the size of a lime! It also is supposed to have hair and fingernails now! I haven't noticed much of a change in my belly this week but I think I have been sicker this week! Ugh! I'm getting close to the second trimester so maybe it will start getting better then. I hadn't said anything about this on here because I honestly thought I was crazy at first but the more research I did, the more I realized it was possible. Last Saturday I think I felt the baby move for the first time. I had just finished eating some icecream at our cousin's house and I felt something in my belly that felt kind of like when someone rubs against your arm really lightly. When I was looking up about feeling the baby move I found out that it COULD be as early as 10 weeks for people who are small. It said that it wouldn't happen very often this early but it is possible. Well, I had that same feeling today!! It is crazy!! Anyway, here is an updated pic. I think I may actually look a tad smaller this week then I did last week.

10 weeks & looking kinda preggo!
So I’ll be double digits tomorrow… 10 weeks!! WOOHOO!! I also think I look much more pregnant now and not so much like I ate a big lunch. I have a belly no matter what I wear now… loose or not. Today was a warmer day and I got to wear my maternity capris… they were so comfy and actually fit me which is nice. I also washed all of the maternity clothes today that one of the teachers is letting me borrow. So now I have some clothes that I’ll hopefully feel a little more comfortable in.
I’ve also had 2 pregnancy/baby dreams lately. Thursday I had a dream about the baby. It was a SHE and she was adorable… she had on a cute little dress and a big bow in her hair… she was also wearing black shiny leather shoes! Then last night I had the CRAZIEST dream about going into labor and when I got to the hospital they made me eat all of this “numbing chili” and then I had to wrangle horses. I didn’t actually dream about having the baby. I woke up when I got to the delivery room which was one giant room with lots of curtains and everyone was having their babies in the same room. It was STRANGE to say the least!
Anyway… here is a new pic collage. This is every other week from 4 weeks until 10 weeks. I think I look more pregnant this week. What do you think?

Feeling Down...
After mentioning it in my survey post I decided that I should go ahead and blog about my feelings because I'm really feeling down today. I hope this will help chear me up or at least help me to be able to get my feelings out. The last two Sundays have been hard. It is hard for me to get motivated enough to go back to work on Mondays. I love my job... that is what makes it so hard. I am tired and am pissed about being RIFed once again this year. RIF means reduction in force. Last year this happened and I was lucky to be called back to the same exact position. This year due to budget cuts we are closing an entire elementary school which that alone makes it necessary to cut me, along with 30 other people. They cut anyone with 4 years or less experience. I have 2. Pay ends in August... insurance ends in June. When I was told this about my insurance I just laughed and told the woman I was pregnant and due in September. She then told me I was the 4th person she had told that day that was pregnant. Lovely, huh? While I was told it was "possible" I could get called back I am very doubtful with it being so many people in front of me on the call back list. Plus they said that if they lose the money they think they will due to cuts in state funding they will have to RIF even more people. WHO is going to teach these children? We will have the same amount of children next year as we had this year... how will they be affected by bigger class sizes and frustrated teachers due to having too many students? I do NOT want to look for a job. That is what I did last year. I started calling every school around asking them if they would have openings, worked on applications and then I got called back. This year, while I don't think I will get called back, I don't have any motivation to do this. I would love to just be a SAHM but we can't afford it but who is going to want to hire a teacher who will be out the beginning of the school year when so many other teachers that are looking for jobs won't be? Now, here comes the kicker. Dh has been very supportive and would love me to be able to stay at home. He has even started looking for other jobs that would be higher paying... let's face it he hates his job anyway. He applied for a job in NC and he got a call for an interview. He goes on Monday. We don't know how much the pay would be but think it would be significantly more than what he is making now. BUT we would have to move. He would probably have to start working BEFORE I finished the school year and I am not the type of person to quit so I would stay here and he'd go there because it is too far for him to commute. If it is the kind of money that we think it would be I would be able to be a SAHM for a year... but we'd have to move... sell the house. I THINK I'm ok with this but it is too soon to make any big plans because he doesn't know if he will even get the job. I just feel like I'm in limbo... do I have to look for a job, will I get rehired, will we be having a long distance relationship for a few months and then moving, will I have to get a job there? I have no idea what will be coming up other than in another 6 or so months we will have a newborn. I hate not knowing the future... I am a planner (that's the teacher in me) and I hate not being prepared and I have NO idea what my future holds.
20 questions
Ok, Ashleigh tagged me so here it goes...
Rule #1: The tagged person must write their answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.
Rule #2: Tag 4 people to do this quiz; they cannot refuse (ok, so nothing bad will happen if you don’t participate but I would love to see your answers). The tag-ee must state who tagged them.
1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family?
Family... my doggy (Winston) is my first baby. DH & I got him after I graduated high school and he has been our baby since then. I can't imagine living life without him in it and it scares me to think that he is almost 7 years old already!
2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be?
I've got a pretty good life. The only thing that would make it better is if my dh had a job he loved and my job was more stable... dang economy for making teaching such a difficult job to hold on to in this area.
3. What would you do with a billion dollars?
We would probably get a nicer house... I love my house but my dream house is a log cabin! I would still work because, let's face it, I love my job. I would have a cleaning lady & an on call chef (DH and I love to cook but sometimes we just don't feel like it... haha). I would like a swimming pool & hot tub. Pay off all our bills. Start a savings account for our children's college. Give money to each of the people important to us in our life and give some to charity.
4. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
DH, my dog, a bubble bath, or music usually do the trick for me! :)
5. What is your bedtime routine?
Get everything ready for the next day, wash my face, brush my teeth, put on my pjs, and go to bed!
6. What activities did you do in High School? If you could go back, would you do the same stuff or something different?
I was a majorette... I also took dance but that wasn't with the school. I really wanted to be a cheerleader but we couldn't afford it. I was not really in to sports... wish I had played softball because I was pretty good at that.
7. What kind of books do you read?
I love Nicholas Sparks... I've read all of his books. I love anything that I can just relax and enjoy.
8. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
2 precious children, a nicer house, teaching or a SAHM
9. What’s your fear?
I fear not being able to afford this baby. I haven't written about this because I have honestly been in denial but I, along with 30 other peole in the county, was told about a week ago that we won't have jobs next year due to the budget. They go by who has the least experience and this year had to cut anyone with 4 years or less. This is the SECOND time this has happened to me. Last year I got called back and was fortunate to get my same position. This year with so many people being ahead of me on the call back it isn't looking good. I have zero interest in looking for a job and honestly who will want to hire me knowing I will be out in the beginning of the school year?
10. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to see outer space?
Nope
11. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Pee... lol!
12. If you could change one thing about your significant other, what would it be?
Sometimes I don't feel like he takes my concerns seriously. He always wants to "fix" things and sometimes I just need him to hear me out because he can't fix it.
13. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?
I can't imagine myself having a different name. It isn't my favorite but I still can't imagine having a different one.
14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose?
Sun duh!!
15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?
tacos!
16. What is the thing you enjoy about blogging the most?
Writing what I feel...
17. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods?
Is it awful to say a mix of both? haha!
18. What items are in your purse right now?
Wallet, checkbook, chapstick, baby's ultrasound (I carry it with me everywhere), pen, and I had to laugh when I read Ashleigh had this because I do too... a tampon!
19. If you had to choose between vacationing at the beach or in the mountains where would you go?
Beach!
20. What do you watch on television that you know you shouldn’t?
Probably same as Ashleigh... One Born Every Minute. It scares me sometimes and makes me cry a lot but I still watch it!

Heartbeat!
I went to the doctor for my 4 week checkup today and it went really well. She said she didn't know whether we'd be able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler but she wanted to try. She did and after a lot of searching she found it!! She said she thought it was "swimming away from the doppler" when she couldn't find it. It was 172! She said this was normal for this point in the pregnancy. They said I had gained a pound since my last appointment which was ok at this point. I'm suprised it wasn't more since I eat constantly but my weight always goes up and down and can fluctuate 2-3 pounds daily. She also gave me some tips of some stuff I need to start doing now to help my chances of being able to breastfeed. Next appointment is March 21st.

9 weeks tomorrow!
I will be 9 weeks tomorrow and the baby should be about the size of a green olive!! Friday was a very stressful and crappy day but this weekend has been a good one. Yesterday was a full day between helping my soon to be sister in law set up for the engagement party, my niece's suprise b-day party, and my brother's engagement party. It was a very fun day. Today I went shopping with mom. We looked at nursery furniture and got me a pair of maternity jeans & maternity capris!!! We also bought the cutest little onesie for the baby! Tomorrow is my 4 week check-up! I’ll update tomorrow night with how my appointment went. Here is a pic of my belly this week!!

Exercising?
Well today I was really showing and had lots of comments about my belly! Then I went down to fourth grade and was asked by a 4th grader that obviously doesn’t know I’m pregnant if I exercise. I said yes, I do sometimes. She then said that I looked like I was in shape. I laughed so hard because of how much my belly is poking out today! I think she was really thinking did you stop exercising because you USED to be in shape and now look really pudgy! HAHA!
I am going to check into the prenatal exercise class that the local hospital is doing. I’m not sure what time or day it is… it just says to call and find out the info. I am feeling much better today than I have in a while. I really want to try to get into a little more exercising now that I’m feeling a little better.

8 weeks (give or take a day)
Tomorrow I will be 8 weeks so I figured I'd post my updated belly pic. I figured it would be fun to make a little collage of my progression from week 4 until week 8. It is funny to see that it seems to get bigger then smaller then bigger again. I think it is all the bloating and then that going down and increasing again. Anyway... here is the pic!
I haven't felt very good all weekend. It all started Friday when I just felt so weak and tired that all I did when I got home was get in the bed and watch tivo. I got up only to eat my dinner that dh brought home! Saturday I felt ok at times and awful at others and got really sick around lunchtime. Today I have gone back to just feeling weak, tired, and nauseas. I took a nap this afternoon then felt worse because I woke up too hot! Ok complaining over!
Last night we went and ate Japaneese & it was super yummy!! We have leftovers that we are going to have for dinner tonight so I'm really excited about that!! We went for dh's aunt's birthday and dh's cousin noticed my belly! Haha... it looked bigger last night than it does today! I told them that I will be so glad when I just look pregnant and not like I just ate too much! I hope everyone has a wonderful week!! XOXO!

Your Belly is Getting Bigger!
So today I was told by one of my students that my belly was getting bigger. It was too funny! Some days you can really tell that my belly is bigger and some days you can’t. Apparently today was noticeable. As we were leaving one of my kids touched my stomach to tell the baby bye and another student (one of my boys) said “Your belly really is getting bigger!” I said “I know!” He said “I can see it!!” I thought it was soo funny because he looked like he was so shocked!
Today I have also had a very strange and somewhat gross symptom start. I didn’t know that it was a pregnancy symptom and thought I was just crazy but I looked it up when I got home and sure enough it said it was common during the first and third trimesters. I have had excess saliva. I mean tons of it. I feel like I’m going to spit on people when I’m talking to them and I’m constantly having to swallow to keep from drooling… lol!
I hope you are all having a great week!

7 weeks!
Ok… I won’t be 7 weeks until tomorrow but it is so much easier to take the pic and update on the weekends and since I have been doing it every Sunday I figured I would continue! I think my stomach has gone done a little. Maybe some of the bloating is gone. I have been eating like crazy lately. Yesterday we went to my best friend’s hubby’s b-day party. On the way back to their house (we were staying for the night) I saw a Papa John’s delivery car. I HAD to have Papa John’s so we ordered it when we got back even though we had just eaten (a lot) at the birthday party. Luckily everyone else went along with it and ate some along with me! Today after getting back I wanted something for lunch. I had made some mac & cheese that we had leftovers for. I told dh I wasn’t so sure I wanted that but I didn’t feel like fixing anything else. Apparently that wasn’t a good idea because one bite and I had to run to the bathroom and throw it back up! Anyway, here is my pic. Oh and the lines on today’s pic is because I had been laying down on my side before I took it!

Almost 7 weeks!!
I will be 7 weeks on Monday! The morning sickness has really kicked in the last few days. Thursday it was all day sickness. I felt so nauseas ALL day long beginning from the time I woke up until when I went to bed. Yesterday it was better because I woke up feeling fine but then when I was trying to find something to eat for breakfast I started gagging and had to run to the bathroom. I don't know when I'll ever be early for work again because it always hits me right as I'm about to leave... haha! Oh well!
I told my kids at school Friday. I put up a pic of the ultrasound for morning work and told them to write a paragraph about what they saw. They were too cute & excited!! Later I found out that a lot of them actually already knew (which I thought they did) when one of the kids blurted out "my mama told me" followed by "so and so told me" and "so and so told me" and so on. Over half of the class already knew and didn't say anything! I told one of them that I knew she knew because she was smiling at my belly the other day... she giggled and said "I know I was!" They were too cute. One of my kids who can be the sweetest kid in the world one minute and awful to the point of having to call a resource officer on her (yes that did happen this year) was SOOOO excited!! She kept saying "I'm so shocked" and rubbing my belly. When we went outside she said "Are you sure you can go outside? You don't want the baby to get cold!!" Then during science when we made edible layers of the soil and I fixed me one she said "Are you sure you can eat that? You know pregnant people can't eat certain foods!" Haha! She was too cute!
Oh and I also told my nephew the other day... that was too cute! I told him "I've got a baby in my belly!" He said "COOL!!" He also asked what it was going to be and I told him that I didn't know. I asked him what he wanted it to be and he said a boy and asked me what I wanted it to be. I said I didn't care and he says.... yeah I don't care either!! haha! What a sweetie!! :)
I'll probably go ahead and post an updated pic tomorrow for 7 weeks because it is just easier to do it on the weekend vs when I'm back at school and trying to function through the week! Some days I'm really showing and others I don't look much different than I did before. I think it is really the bloating. I did have to wear a belly band on Thursday because I couldn't even zip my pants but it has gone back down some since then. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! :)

Well today I went for my first ultrasound. Dennis & mom went with me. Because I was so early they did an internal ultrasound which was a little weird. Anyway, the woman kept saying that it was really early so I didn't think that I would be able to hear the heartbeat but then she turned the sound on and it was STRONG! I couldn't believe how strong it was to be so early and so tiny!! She said I am 6 weeks 1 day which is one day less than what I thought. Here is a picture of the ultrasound!
The tech also told me that my cervix is tilted. She kind of got on my nerves because she said this laughing and then led into which will cause it to hurt when they do the final exam or if they have to break my water.

6 weeks!
I am going to continue going by my caclulations until after my ultrasound Tuesday when the doc will know better about how far along I am. Therefore, I think I am 6 weeks today. That makes the baby the size of a sweet pea & it is developing his/her eyes, noise, and mouth! The arms and legs are also buds now! CRAZY!! Here is an updated picture.... the day after I found out and today at 6 weeks!

Telling the World!! This is going to be long!
Well a lot has changed since the last update. I haven't really felt like updating because I have a sinus infection that is making me feel like crud. Thursday after I updated I got my first day of morning sickness. I was eating breakfast and put a bite in my mouth and said wow, I'm full already no more after this bite. Then I swallowed that bite to immediately start gagging. Well, I felt better shortly after that and didn't get sick but then I started coughing because of the sinus drainage and the coughing led to gagging which led to throwing up for a long, LONG time. Thankfully it was a 2 hour delay that day! I decided to tell my team & my principal at school that day. Here is how I told the world on Thursday:
Telling my principal: I went in her office and told her I needed to tell her something before she heard from someone else. She said "Oh no, where are you going?" I told her I hoped to not go anywhere and hope to be there next year! I then told her I was pregnant & due in September. She is very happy for me and got up and gave me a big hug! I thought it was very sweet. She asked me how I'd been feeling and everything! :)
Telling my team: we happened to all be chatting in the hall during planning so I asked them to step in my room for a second. I then told them I had lied about where I went the day before that I didn't go to the dentist. One of them said I know... you went to the gyno! I said yes, and I'm pregnant! They were really excited although I can't say they were very shocked. One of them said she knew I wasn't going to the dentist because of the look on my face when I said that is where I was going. Another said she knew something was up because of how many times I have said that I am tired lately and how I never talked about being tired before.
All in all that went really well.
Telling my nieces: That night we ate at mom's and had my 2 neices over so we could tell them. I had decided I wanted to ask them about babysitting and mama saw a 2 pack of pacifiers so she bought them for me to give one to each of them. So I had them behind my back & told them I had something for them. Lindsay started freaking out and saying I was scaring her. haha! And Taylor looked around my back and said "She has pacifiers. Why does she have pacifiers? Is she telling us we are acting like babies???" I couldn't help but laugh. I said "No, I was wondering if you would be willing to babysit?" Lindsay screamed "YOUR PREGNANT?!?!" and Taylor just kept saying "She's lying... she's lying. Are you kidding?" Haha... when I finally had them where they believed me they were soooo excited and that they were really keeping those pacifiers to use when we had the baby! haha.
Telling the world aka facebook... We knew we had then told all the important people that we needed to personally tell so we decided to go ahead and tell the world (aka facebook). So I posted on facebook "*The Kirby family will grow by 2 feet in September 2011! <3* We have gotten tons of comments telling us congrats and they are so excited for us!
We are so excited and it feels great for everyone to know now. One of the teachers I work with brought me some belly bands & the one I ordered came in yesterday so I may be wearing some of those very soon so I can continue wearing my regular clothes that have gotten so tight already! All I want to do is EAT! I'm soo hungry all the time. I woke up at 4:40 this morning and was STARVING so I had to eat some crackers. Then when I got up at 7:30 (yes I would have liked to sleep later) I was STARVING again! I put on some bowled eggs & couldn't wait for that and had to eat something while waiting for that!I can't wait go to the doc & get my ultrasound on TUESDAY!!! WOOHOO!!! :)

Doctor's appointment
Well I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday and no ultrasound as I expected BUT I get to have one next Tuesday!!! He said everything looks & feels normal and that based on my last menstrual period he thinks I am 6 weeks but will know more once they do the ultrasound. I don't think I'm quite that far along but we will see on Tuesday! If I am 6 weeks they gave me a due date of September 23rd! They also did bloodwork and asked me a million questions too. The doctor kept saying he was so happy for us (he knew we were trying & had put me on the clomid). He said all you needed was the clomid to help you out!! :) 2 hour delay today... woohoo!!

Tomorrow, tomorrow
I love ya… Tomorrow… Your only a day awayyyyy!!! (Yes I stole that from you Ashley on TMP... haha) I go to the doc tomorrow at 2:30! I’m sure he won’t do much of anything but I’m just so excited to finally go to the doctor & hear him say “Yes, you are really pregnant.” I know it is silly but I just can’t wait! Then we plan on telling the world! Tomorrow is a work day so I will be going in tomorrow morning basically just to go to meetings. I have a training from 9-10:30 & a budget meeting with the super at 10:45. Then I’m leaving at 12!! I decided to go ahead and take 1/2 day because they will charge me for 1/2 day anyway so I might as well go get something to eat and take it easy on the way to the doc. My assistant principal met with me today about my observation from yesterday and I apparently waasn’t as out of it as I felt. She said I did a good job so that made me feel better. Resting up tonight and trying to get some work done since I won’t have my work day tomorrow!

Stressful day...
My day started when I woke up to my dog whining at 5 am. I then realized that I was having cramps that felt like my period. I was so upset because I was afraid something was wrong. I just knew I was going to start bleeding & that I was miscarrying. They went away after about 10 minutes & I haven't had any bleeding. I tested again this afternoon when I got home from work just to try to give me some reassurance & the test line was darker than the control line so that made me feel better. I also saw a lot online about period like cramps are really common about this time in pregnancy because of the uterus expanding. Please pray that everything is fine. I am very thankful that I am going to the doctor on Wednesday!!
Of course I then had an observation first thing this morning after I was completely stressed already. I feel like I bombed that observation but I am just so not going to worry about it. I also had 2 of my sped kids have breakdowns this afternoon so all in all it wasn't a great day. I am going to rest up tonight & pray that everything is fine and tomorrow will be a better day.

One week and counting...
I had a long, stressful day and it had nothing to do with the sweet poppyseed inside me. Poppyseed actually allowed me to feel ok today. I was still very tired but I did sleep through the night last night so I wasn't as tired as I have been. Work was really stressful. I don't want to get into all the details but it was a long & very stressful day to say the least. Then it worried me about having the stress and how that was going to affect my little poppyseed.
On another note, I took another IC test this morning and the lines were the same. I hadn't taken one of them since Sunday. I took my last FRER & an IC Sunday and had lines the same on the FRER but they weren't the same on the IC. I know I'm crazy for continuing to test but I like to see the lines get darker. It makes me feel like I'm progressing the way I am supposed to. I go to the doctor one week from today!!! I'm so excited! I am also starting to get a little belly... I'm assuming it is bloat but my oh my this is early! I couldn't button my pants this morning... granted they were a pair that had gotten kind of tight but still I wasn't even close to getting them buttoned. Yikes! I thought I had a little pudge showing with my sweater I wore today and I asked the girl that knows at school and she said she could see it too.. oh my! She said she didn't think she would notice it if she didn't know I was pregnant. I told mama this today and she said once again that she thinks it is twins in there!

Really poppyseed?
Ok, I know the poppyseed is not making me so hungry so WHY am I sooo hungry???? I woke up not once but TWICE last night so hungry I felt sick and had to eat crackers. The second time I just brought them to bed with me. DH looked at me like I was nuts but I was SOOO hungry! Then I got up and got almost completely ready and find out we have a 2 hour delay. Too bad the alert now didn't work and I was getting ready to walk out the door. No going back to bed for me. Then I decided well I will sit down and eat some of this new cereal I bought over the weekend since I have time and don't have to eat on the road like I normally do. So I fix me a bowl of cereal, take one bite, and that bite quickly came back up. Ewww... not yummy. DH texted me and asked how I was feeling and I told him and he said "I'm so sorry we will buy you some diff cereal." I told him it was ok because the baby is just nestling in good! :) I am sooo in love with this poppyseed!!!

We told a select few...
Well... I have been going nuts not telling people. Especially my mom & his mom. I just couldn't wait to tell them. They both knew we were trying to conceive and both were very excited about it. I finally talked dh into letting us tell earlier than after the first appointment. Yesterday the shirt we had ordered for our furbaby came in (it said "My mommy is pregnant and all I got was this t-shirt") so I talked dh into letting me invite them over for dinner tonight to tell them. So we invited mom, stepdad, mil, brother and his fiance. My brother and his fiance couldn't come though. After they were all here we told them that we had gotten our furbaby a shirt and wanted to show them. I also said he was so cute in it that we wanted to record their reactions. Got him dressed & let him go over to them. My mom grabbed him and started screaming and jumping up and down. Then his mom figured it out and did the same. It was great!! They were soooo excited! The video isn't very good but it is still priceless! We then called my brother & put him on speakerphone & told him. He said "I'm going to be an uncle?" haha... also called and told my dad. He was really excited! I told all of them I wanted to wait a little while to tell everyone to make sure everything was ok. That was GREAT!
I started having some new symptoms today. I gagged big time when brushing my teeth. Then was nauseous during church. Then when I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast the smell of the fire made me nauseous again. I have also peed a bajillion times today. I am glad to be having symtpoms because that tells me the sweet little poppyseed inside me is ok.

I'M PREGNANT!!
I can't say that enough & I am still having trouble believing it so excuse me while I say... I'M PREGNANT, I'M PREGNANT, I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I'm ok now. I figured you might want to hear a little more about yesterday.... my wonderful bfp day!!
My first and only real sign I had before finding out was extreme fatigue. I have been so tired that I haven't wanted to do anything after getting off work. My eyes have been hurting and hard to keep open. So I decided to take a test... way too early figuring it would be negative. I dipped the FRER & IC and they had a very almost not there line. At first I thought it was BFN and then I remembered any line was a BFP. I had even already gone to my FF account and put negative for the day before I was like HOLD UP! There WAS a line! On BOTH tests!!! I was suddenly extremely happy that I had peed in a cup and could dip another test. I rushed to the cabinet got a digi test and dipped it. I held it in my hand and prayed all three minutes. After the word "Pregnant" came up I was so happy I literally couldn't stop shaking for a good two hours. The bad news was that dh wasn't home. I honestly didn't think the test was going to be a BFP because I had seen month after month of BFNs and it was really too early. So I immediately called him. Luckily, he didn't answer the phone because when I called and told my best friend she made me realize I couldn't tell him over the phone. Unfortunately I already had left a message for him to "call me immediately!" So when he called I played it off. Since I was home all day with it being a snow day I spent all day online researching pregnancy... because I am PREGNANT! I found out that I am somewhere between 3 & 4 weeks (about 3 weeks 4 days today) and that my baby is due around September 25th. I also found out that the baby is now the size of a poppyseed.
When dh FINALLY got home I asked him what he thought of poppyseeds. He thought I was nuts. I then pulled out the digi and told him that the reason I asked was because that was the size of our baby! He jerked the test out of my hand, looked at it, threw it to the side and then hugged & kissed me. I was so happy to finally be able to say the words... I'm pregnant. It is still hard for me to believe. Last night I had a major backache... symptom # 2!!! I also have been peeing more frequently and really hungry today... symptoms # 3 & 4!!!
We haven't told anyone else yet. I can't wait to tell!! I'm so excited!!!! I want to wait a little while to make sure nothing happens but I'm not sure how long I can stand waiting! I have my first appointment January 26th & I would like to wait until after that to tell anyone but I'm not sure I can.

Knocked up for real this time!
Thank you all for following me through my crazy days of ttc. I now know I had a reason for acting so crazy yesterday & for how tired I have been the last 2 weeks. I am pregnant!!!! Those words sound so funny coming out of my mouth! I never thought I would be able to say them! I can't believe it!!! I am still shaking. Also, dh and I had said we would take all tests together BUT this morning my temp went down so I told him I didn't think I was going to test because AF will probably be showing the next few days. I told him I might take an IC when I got up and he said ok. Well when I got up I decided to take an IC & FRER. I took both at the same time and they both had faint lines. I almost threw them away & then I was like hold up there are lines there... and they are pink & it is on BOTH of them not just one! So I dipped my CBE digi & it came up "Pregnant!!" Of course my camera is broken and so I can't take a pic with that & my phone takes awful pics but I took a pic with it anyway. I know awful pic between the shaking & the phone.

Ok
Feeling better now. I really had a mini breakdown after taking my test today and now I feel completely silly. I always say that testing before 10dpo is silly & pretty much useless and then I get upset when I get a BFN at 9dpo with smu. I could possibly be only 8dpo. There is still time for me to get a BFP and I am hoping & praying that it will still happen. I am still not having any major symptoms... tired & creamy cm. I am having a few little cramps in my sides but that is completely normal for me after O. I typically get a lot more of them then I have had this cycle though so not sure what that is about. My temps look pretty good. I know that is not everything but right now that is all I have! haha... Also on FF I looked at the community charts & told it to find charts like mine with the same bd schedule, pre-o & post-o temps and it came up with quite a few charts. The statistics for them was also very good... 73% pregnancy. I was in shock. I however didn't really see any that I thought looked like mine.... who knows! I plan on testing with fmu tomorrow morning!
I did a bad thing...
We are having a snow day so I have too much time at home to think. I had an EPT Digi that will be expiring next month left over from a 2 pack I bought a while back before ttc so I decided hey why not waste it by taking it at 9dpo. Yes, I know I said I was waiting until 10dpo to test BUT I couldn't resist. Now of course I'm feeling down that it was a BFN. The word Not is laughing at me... .I also took an IC and there is NOTHING... not even an evap to analyze. I'm really dissapointed. I know realistically that it is early and I've been trying my best not to get my hopes up but I have. I want to be pregnant. I know a lot of people have been ttc with no luck longer than me but I am so done with it. I hate timed bd'ing.... I hate having to wake up every morning to temp and taking clomid.... and opks hoping and praying the lines will be the same for days. I hate being let down month after month. I know it isn't over yet but now I just feel like it is. I'm sorry for the negativity and I'll be ok... it is just frustrating!

8dpo and no testing!
I always test at 8dpo.... and I didn't! WOOHOO!! Now let's see if I can hold off tomorrow too and test on my planned test date of Wednesday. My chart looks pretty good and it makes me excited but I don't want to get too excited. I am very, very, VERY tired. My eyes burn I'm so tired. I also had some major gas pains this morning shortly after waking up. Please, please, please let this be my month!!!

I am the little engine that could
I think I can, I think I can... wait until at least Wednesday to test that is. It is so hard waiting but I don't want to be dissapointed by early BFNs. I am trying to be positive and remind myself that it is possible I could be pregnant. The last few months have gotten me down so much that a big part of me doesn't believe I will get pregnant. I'm trying to be positive and believe that it is possible for me to get a BFP. I haven't had any symtpoms like I typically do... dh said maybe THAT is a symptom in itself! haha! I have been doing a lot of praying that this will be it.
On tmp today someone posted a very inspirational story about someone getting pregnant that was believed to be infertile. Someone at her church told her to include this in her daily prayers. Deuteronomy 28:4 "The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand and in the fruit of your body." I plan on incorporating this each time I pray from now on. I am already praying to get pregnant in each of my prayers but I will also add this verse.
I'm hoping & praying to see a BFP in a few days!!!

not sure what to think...
I don't know what to think about my chart. I guess it is still way too early to know anything by it. I am either 5 or 6dpo...I think I am 6dpo. I am putting a picture of my chart on here. You are welcome to tell me your opinions! :) I have had absolutely no symtpoms. I usually have little pokes and twinges and cramps in my sides after O. I've had nothing at all. I love and hate the 2ww. DH told me last night he thought I was pregnant... I reminded him he thought I was pregnant last cycle too so I don't take much credibility from that! haha! Please let this be it!!!!

FF Surrendered to Me!
Yep, I made FF surrender. It didn't want to give me crosshairs but I made it give me crosshairs! haha... I actually just switched to research detector and BAM... it gave me crosshairs!!!! I just looove having crosshairs & being post-o. I am so exhausted which I know has nothing to do with signs since it is wayyy too early. It has everything to do with not being able to fall asleep I've been having the last few days. Ugh! I'm heading to bed now. I'm so tired I feel like I could sleep a month...

Tired & Stressed
I have been so tired since going back to work from Christmas break. It is really hard getting back into the swing of things. On top of that I haven't been able to sleep well. This morning I was so tired I actually fell asleep while temping. I woke up and said did it go off & dh was like yeah... a few minutes ago!
Today was also a very stressful day at work. We found out some of the many changes that are going to happen next year and I for one do not like them. We got a new superintendent this year and he wants to change EVERYTHING.... on top of that with budget cuts I'm still having to stress about whether I will even HAVE a job next year. I was RIFed last year but luckily they were able to hire me back. They go by last hired/least experience and unfortunately being only a second year teacher there aren't that many below me. My only hope is that some people retire. I keep telling myself I can't stress about this and what will be, will be but meetings like the one I had today really puts things into perspective.
I am 2dpo...I think. Even though FF doesn't agree with me, I am pretty positive that I am 2dpo today. No symptoms of course but I did go ahead and start taking B6 today. I decided to take it throughout post o to hopefully lengthen my lp. I didn't want to take it during my whole cycle because the one time I did my cycle was so wacky. I hope this works... I hope I'm pregnant... I hope I don't lose my job... I hope I can sleep tonight. Man I have a lot of hopes right now....

O day!!
Well I had thought yesterday was O day but I had another low temp this morning so it wasn't. I think today may have been my O dip. I did get another positive digi OPK but when I ejected it, I would have called it negative. It was dark just not quite as dark so I'm guessing my surge is now leaving. We did bd last night and I'm hoping we can go for it again today/tonight.
Last night we had the traditional (kind of) new year's day meal... black eyed peas, collard greens, fried porkchops, stewed tomatoes, and rolls... it was YUMMY! I hope it brought us luck! :) Back to work for both of us tomorrow.. at least I will have something to distract me in my 2ww!
My updated to do list...
So at the beginning of Christmas break I made a to-do list and posted it... here is my updated list with what I actually got done. Not too bad.
1. Finish grading papers & put in gradebook
2. Revamp classroom website3. Work on lesson plans
4. Type letter about student
5. Write thank you cards to my students for my Christmas gifts
6. Clean the house
7. Clean & organize office & spare bedroom8. Finish reading Safe Haven9. Start & maybe finish a new book
10. Ovulate and get pregnant (LOL)
Of course I hope I completed all of # 10 but only time will tell for that...

knocked up!
So I think I got knocked up last night! *woot woot* Haha... I know that is silly to say but I just had this strange feeling while bd'ing and afterwards that it was going to work this time. That this time was IT. I think today is O day. The feeling scares me because I don't want to get my hopes up like I do every 2ww but I also don't want to be negative from the start of it. So I'm going to hope & pray that this is the cycle that will get me a BFP!!
I did finally get a positive on my digi OPK today... it is BEAUTIFUL! :) I told dh that means we would be bd'ing at least today & tomorrow if not the next day too! :) You should have seen his face! haha!
Happy New Year's everyone!! :) I hope 2011 is amazing for you!!
